What is the biggest obstacle you have had to overcome thus far in your career? – Melissa

Staying focused was a difficult thing for me to do after the 2004 Olympics. You want to continue to train, but you also want to enjoy the perks of all your hard training. It took me awhile to learn how to balance everything but that’s a good life skill to have.

How do you think your life might be different had you not competed in the 1996 Olympics? – Jasmine

Wow. Maybe I would be athletic but not crazy into my sport and I would probably be really into fashion. I always wanted to open my own boutique so I would probably be doing that.

Yuck! I hate that sports and athletes even have to worry about those things. It takes so my away from our sport. I try to not even think about it and be aware of what I put in my body. It takes a lot to convince me to even take a Tylenol.
